[click a link to one of the family lines above to see the whole branch or search an individual in the search boxes to the left] Greetings and Shalom! If you've arrived at this page, then chances are you are the descendant of a Koonan, Morrison, Golder, or Anderson. I've been researching our family tree for years and wanted to create a shared space for family to learn more about our history. As such, I will be granting family members who sign in "contributor" status so that you can upload your own photos, notes, and other media. Tell stories, give updates, and contribute as much or as little as you want. Otherwise, feel free to just enjoy the information that is already here. If you need any help, just contact me and I'll be happy to. You could also just send the content for me to post. The data here is far from exhaustive and will be a constant work in progress. Personally, I'd love as much material on the older generations as possible: photos, stories, documents, and video. We need to preserve this information!
Also, be sure to check out my BLOG in the link above for more content. I'm hoping to update it regularly. These trees are very large and spread out, so viewing them on a computer, and preferably in [vertical] view, is probably the best way to go. It may take some playing around to learn to move the tree around. You'll want to scroll down into it a bit and then drag the tree around with your mouse to move left and right. If you are dragging and dragging and nothing is coming up, than you are probably high up on a tree with many older generation siblings, so there is a lot of empty space at the top to make room for all the family members at the bottom. Just keep going and you'll find the next great aunt or uncle and/or use the magnifying glass to zoom out and get a better idea of where the tree is. If you are a MORRISON, or KOONAN/KUNIN descendant, than lucky you! Just click one of the links above to the desired surname and the tree starts at the very top. Unfortunately, they don't go back too far, but they are rich at the lower levels. I am always trying to do research on the Koonans from Russia, but no luck so far. If you are an ANDERSON, then there are some interesting paths to follow. The ANDERSON link will take you to the earliest Anderson in name, but the bloodline winds all the way up to the 1700s Metzgers and Brumbaughs. If you are a GOLDER/BISHOP descendant, than brace yourself. It's going to be a bumpy ride. To make things easier, I've listed every line and given the earlier of the birth or death date to the earliest ancestor in the link. Just scroll down from these (see note on Hoopes below) and it'll take you the latest descendants. Every family line here except for the Morrison, Koonan, Anderson, Metzger, and Brumbaugh lines relate to to most Golder/Bishop descendants. The GOLDER link above goes to John Golder, The oldest known Golder in the family. The furthest line goes to Robert Howpe, born about 1518 in Great Moorsholm, England, followed by John Yearnold, born in 1535 in Hadzor Parish, Worcestershire, England. They also include the line of Valentine Hollingsworth, a Quaker born in 1632 in Belleniskcrannel, Armagh, Ireland. His cemetery is currently a historical site in Delaware, next to his home built in 1683 (only three stone walls remain of the original foundation). Note* on the Hoopes line. This is the longest line and begins with Daniel Hoopes (1672-1749). I started here because it is the earlier line where you can easily view all current descendants. However, click the ancestors of Daniel and then set the number of generations to at least 6, and it will extend to the oldest member in the family line, Robert Howpe (1518-1570). A very special thanks to Ivey Anderson, Jackie Anderson, Alan Mayer, Myrna Gifford, and everyone else who contributed to my research on the family trees.Contact Us
